“Let’s tell it all.”

That was the moment this project truly began. After months of conversations and a shared vision, Steve Robinson, founder of Otway Pasta Company, and Mitch Withers of Of Place Films shook hands on something more than just a brand video - they agreed to create a documentary that captures the heart of what Otway Pasta Company is about at its origins and very core.

Not About Pasta is a short film that explores how food, authenticity, and human connection are woven together through the humble act of making pasta.

Mitch spent over a year developing the documentary with Steve. To capture the essence of what goes into the quality ingredients used in Otway Pasta’s range, they travelled together from the wheat fields of Liverpool Plains to the Honest Eggs farm in Daylesford, and back home to the factory floor of Otway Pasta Company. Along the way, Mitch worked closely with Steve and the Australian farmers to craft something intimate, honest, and deeply reflective of the relationships behind the product.

Mitch’s work is rooted in values of authenticity, transparency, and integrity. His process involves spending time with business owners and founders to understand not just what they do, but why they do it. He believes in amplifying the voices of purpose-driven businesses, and Not About Pasta is a clear expression of that.

Through honest storytelling and beautiful cinematic visuals, this film is more than a behind-the-scenes peek into pasta making. 

It’s about people, place, and the kind of integrity that drives truly meaningful business.
